Drug Bust and Miracles!

The past two weeks have been sick!!!! So day 1 we fly out of Idaho Falls and miss our connecting flight to Atlanta because of mechanical issues on the plane. Kinda sketch but ya know whatever. So we chilled at the airport for like an hour and then got on a flight with about 30 other missionaries.

We spent the first night in a hotel and then the next day we had transfers! I met my comp, and we had to race out to Douglasville, Georgia.

We're driving along and he tells me that we're going straight to a lesson and we're teaching the word of wisdom. I was a little shook. But we sent it and the girl we were teaching committed to making a TON of changes. She's on date to be baptized! 

We have been crazy busy ever since then! We are always either contacting or teaching! We get at least one or two referrals from Facebook every day! Just this week we have found 4 new people to teach! The work is moving forward!

Okay so on my third day here we were going to go meet a new "member" move-in. It's supposed to be a single guy living there but we roll up and like 6 cars are parked in the back. So we park the car in the back and knock on the door. 

Mind you this is my first door approach ever. We knock a couple times but no answer. So we start walking around back to our car and we notice all the upstairs windows are open and it's pouring rain. 

When we get to the back 3 people are hustling out the door and to their cars. They were all on the phone and when one lady saw us she starts stuffing "stuff" into a bag. So we asked if the member, Ortiz, lives there and one guy yells into the house, "They're looking for Ortiz!" Then they all take off in their cars. So we got out of there. We were just helping them live the word of wisdom. LOL

Anyway, it's been an amazing couple of weeks and it's been incredible to see the message of Jesus Christ change people's lives!

Stranger Things on P-day in Lithia, Georgia

Monday is P-day in the Georgia Atlanta Mission. On Monday, December 21st, it was t-shirt weather and a day to do a little adventuring around Douglasville. Sam, his companion Elder Pike, and the other set of missionaries in the apartment, Elder Hinck and Elder Searle, took in two popular tourist sites close by in Lithia, Georgia.  Tiffany's Kitchen in Lithia, Georgia is used in episodes of Stranger Things Tiffany's turns into Benny's Burgers for the Netflix show Stranger Things Inside Tiffany's Kitchen/Benny's Burgers The menu at Tiffany's Kitchen is apparently not fantastic. The restaurant is better as a set for Stranger Things than it is for good food. P-day adventure at Sweetwater Creek State Park in Lithia, Georgia. Apparently, this is a rock.
